Description
The Kurt Weill Foundation’s Professional Performance grant supports opera and theater companies, dance companies, orchestras, ensembles, and other professional concert groups presenting musical works by Kurt Weill or Marc Blitzstein. It supports staged productions and concerts, with priority given to additional costs specific to a particular work or its presentation. Major professional productions and festivals may also be considered.
The music must be central to the project, not incidental or background material. Works must generally be presented in their original versions and orchestrations; the program also permits specified authorized arrangements and two works based on the lives of Weill and Lotte Lenya.
