Program Development Grants support SWE-led groups with outreach, professional skills, and leadership events to advance women and girls in engineering and technology and promote professional excellence.

Key Information: The project manager and treasurer must be different paid SWE members, and treasurer verification is mandatory.
Description
The Society of Women Engineers’ Program Development Grants support strategic activities led by SWE organizations. Eligible programming includes hands-on engineering and technology outreach for girls, activities for adult advocates and prospective engineering students, professional skill development, and SWE leadership development. Events must have a defined date, location, and audience. Professional development programming must identify learning objectives and activities that reinforce those skills.
The SWE PDG Working Group prioritizes originality, impact, financial need, and responsible stewardship. Requests should advance at least one SWE strategic objective: advocating for women and girls in engineering and technology, aspiring toward professional excellence, or encouraging globalization. First-time events receive full consideration. Previously funded events are assessed for development, growth, and progress toward future funding rather than simply repeating unchanged programming.
