Description
British Heart Foundation (BHF) Programme Grants provide long-term, renewable support for leading research groups addressing significant cardiovascular research challenges. They bring a variety of research activities together around one strategic theme, supporting basic or applied clinical research relevant to the cardiovascular system.
BHF encourages ambitious, imaginative, interdisciplinary and collaborative proposals, including expertise beyond traditional biomedical fields. Following its research strategy refresh, it will consider larger proposals without a formal funding cap, assessing costs against the scale, scope, ambition and potential impact of the work. Scientific excellence, potential for impact and value for money remain central to assessment. Awards initially support five years of research, with an interim review halfway through and further support possible through successful renewal applications.
