Description
The German Research Foundation (DFG) supports thematic project academies that enable professors at universities of applied sciences to engage in DFG-funded research early in their careers. Academies create a setting for scientific dialogue around a shared theme and for developing research projects based on DFG third-party funding.
The programme distinguishes between experienced researchers who submit academy proposals and early-career professors who participate in the academies. Proposals may come from researchers at universities of applied sciences, universities or other research institutions in Germany. Support includes organising project-specific workshops and, where release from teaching or administrative duties is needed, funding a replacement to take over those responsibilities.
