Description
Alzheimer's Research UK's Project Award funds substantial dementia research that has moved beyond initial exploration. It supports established researchers pursuing clearly defined questions in areas such as disease mechanisms, diagnosis and prevention. Projects should have robust hypotheses, a strong scientific rationale, appropriate preliminary evidence, clear objectives and tangible outputs achievable during the award.
The scheme can also support an integrated PhD scholarship when the proposal includes an appropriate doctoral training plan and gives the student equal access to institutional doctoral support. Awards are made through open competition, with attention to scientific excellence, the research team's expertise and the potential impact on dementia research and people affected by dementia.
