Description
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grant program supports individual researchers and teams at any career stage pursuing important advances in fundamental or applied health knowledge, health care, health systems, and health outcomes. It welcomes new, incremental, innovative, and high-risk research and knowledge translation approaches across all areas of health aligned with CIHR’s mandate.
The program funds work from discovery through application and commercialization, and promotes collaboration across disciplines, professions, and sectors. Its scope includes global health and international collaborations with potential benefits for Canada or the global community, culturally safe Indigenous health research grounded in Indigenous values and traditions, randomized controlled trials, and interdisciplinary research. Commercialization can bring products, tools, or services into use in private, public, or not-for-profit settings.
