Description
Project Grants in Education (PGE), administered by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA), provides project-specific support to schools, nonprofit organizations, arts educators, and teaching artists. It funds experiential, sequential learning in one or more art forms, prioritizing Pre-K–12 students while building the capacity of local teaching artists and nonprofits.
Supported work includes artist residencies, arts integration, community engagement, school enhancement, curriculum development, and arts learning in summer camps, after-school programs, and weekend programs. Projects must have connected activities with a distinct beginning and end, rather than cover an organization’s entire programming season. Community connection and value are central priorities, particularly engagement with underserved communities as defined by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).
