Description
Vermont Humanities’ Project Grants support community and curriculum development projects that use humanities tools to connect people across Vermont, create just, vibrant, and resilient communities, and inspire lifelong learning. Eligible work includes public humanities programming, curriculum development with plans to share the results, and humanities experiences supporting affinity groups or encouraging interaction among them. Both new and existing projects may receive support.
The program values collaboration, civic engagement, democratic practice, and increased understanding of the humanities in public life. Review priorities include underserved, rural, and under-resourced communities, as well as leadership from or substantial engagement with people historically excluded from humanities funding. Accessibility and diversity, equity, inclusion, and access are central considerations. Vermont Humanities does not use federal funding for these grants.
