Description
Project Next Generation is an Illinois State Library program that helps public libraries bridge the digital divide in communities with need. It funds educational programs for students in grades 5–12 that combine access to technology with mentors who guide learning through library-based projects.
Activities should use hands-on or virtual experiences and technology to enrich learning. Projects may range from robotics to photography and can foster interest in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. The program aims to build students’ knowledge, confidence, critical-thinking skills, and readiness for future educational and life experiences. It is funded through the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
