    Description

This program provides discretionary government grants through the Finland Ministry for Foreign Affairs to support Finnish civil society organisations (CSOs) in implementing development cooperation projects in developing countries. The aim is to strengthen civil society, promote democracy and human rights, support civic space, and foster sustainable societal development. Projects must align with Finland’s development policy priorities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and are expected to demonstrate strong local partnerships, a human rights-based approach, and cross-cutting objectives such as gender equality and environmental protection. The program also encourages multi-actor cooperation, including collaboration with local partners, businesses, municipalities, and educational institutions.
