Description
The Projects Peer Review Panel (PPRP) is run by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), part of UK Research and Innovation. It reviews large or complex projects with significant scientific priority in particle physics, nuclear physics, astronomy, particle astrophysics, accelerator physics and computing for the PPAN programme.
Supported work includes participation in new experiments or missions, development of existing high-priority projects, instruments, accelerator technologies and detectors, major high-performance computing facilities, and operation of existing facilities. New e-science initiatives, including modelling and data management, are also within scope. Assessment considers scientific excellence, advances in understanding and discovery, technical importance and strategic value within STFC programmes, including links with other programmes, facilities and international subscriptions.
