Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) plans to support the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) through one cooperative agreement. The program aims to strengthen the cancer surveillance workforce, improve the quality and completeness of NPCR data, and promote its use in cancer research and public health decision-making.
The recipient will support certified Oncology Data Specialists and other cancer surveillance professionals through education, credentialing, and professional development. Work will also include advancing best practices, tools, and partnerships; providing technical assistance and guidance to NPCR registries and staff; and strengthening collaboration and communication about the value of NPCR data. CDC will provide technical assistance, coordinate with NPCR and partners, and monitor progress.
