Description
The Sumitomo Foundation offers this grant to help pass cultural properties outside Japan on to future generations. It supports projects protecting, preserving, or restoring old, tangible properties of artistic or academic value, including fine arts and historical materials associated with archaeological sites. Preliminary surveys are eligible when directly linked to such work.
Properties forming part of a structure or building, such as murals and sculptures, are within scope. For archaeological sites, support is limited to historical materials forming part of a site or excavated from it, and directly related preliminary surveys—not work on an entire site.
