    Description

The Primate Society of Great Britain (PSGB) Conservation Grants support work of direct benefit to primate conservation and conservation education. Administered by the Society’s Conservation Subcommittee, the programme funds projects addressing known threats to primate populations or constraints on population recovery, surveys directing conservation effort to important locations, and other research with a direct conservation benefit.

The remit also includes work that shifts incentives towards conservation, such as training, education, awareness-raising, compensation schemes and policy influence. Awards are competitive, with considerable weight placed on specific, attainable conservation goals. The Subcommittee also administers funding from other organisations and individuals. Although awards are relatively small, PSGB approval can help applicants seek support from other funding sources.
