Description
The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) supports eligible institutions in developing and enhancing research training opportunities for physicians pursuing careers in psoriatic disease, including dermatology and rheumatology. These fellowships emphasize support for the people conducting research, with funding restricted to stipends, salaries, and benefits. They are primarily intended for M.D. holders, though exceptionally promising medical students may also be supported.
The fellowships form part of NPF’s broader effort to advance the treatment, prevention, and cure of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and related comorbidities. NPF reports that one in three fellowships produces a publication accepted in a peer-reviewed journal. Recipients have also presented their work at domestic and international scientific conferences.
