Description
The South Carolina Arts Commission supports local public art made intentionally for spaces in the public realm. Projects may create new work or maintain, repair, and revitalize existing work. Eligible art is limited to murals, sculptures, light installations, and sound installations. It may be indoors or outdoors, on public or private property, provided it is free and consistently accessible to everyone.
Funding can support artist and contractor work, fabrication and installation, documentation, signage, public art tours, and public art-focused workshops and programs. Reviewers consider the work’s connection to its site and community, its relevance to community history, culture, or identity, public engagement, and accessibility for disabled people.
