Description
The Public Assistance (PA) Grant Program, administered by the Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) in partnership with FEMA, provides financial assistance to help state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, as well as eligible private non-profit (PNP) organizations, recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President. The program reimburses eligible entities for costs related to debris removal, emergency protective measures, and the permanent restoration of damaged public infrastructure. It is FEMA’s largest grant initiative for disaster recovery, designed to facilitate a swift return to safe, functional, and resilient communities.
