Description
The Public Assistance (PA) program, administered by the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, provides grant funding to support state, tribal, territorial, and local governments, as well as certain private nonprofit organizations, in the aftermath of a Presidential emergency or major disaster declaration. The program reimburses eligible applicants for emergency work (such as debris removal and emergency protective measures) and permanent work (including repairs to roads, bridges, public buildings, utilities, and recreational facilities). The goal is to help communities recover by addressing critical infrastructure needs following significant disasters.
