The Public Education, Participation, and Outreach (PEPO) Grant Program funds initiatives that enhance public awareness and understanding of water issues in Colorado. Established by the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB), the program supports both Statewide Initiatives—projects of multi-basin or statewide importance such as education campaigns and awareness surveys—and Basin Coordinator grants, which fund individuals or organizations to coordinate education and outreach within each of Colorado’s nine river basins. All projects must align with the Colorado Water Plan and respective Basin Implementation Plans, and require approval from the relevant basin roundtable.
