    Description

The Society for Renaissance Studies’ Public Engagement Scheme supports events and activities that bring Renaissance studies, broadly understood, to people beyond the academy. It takes a broad view of engagement, including knowledge exchange and impact activities recognised under REF criteria. Proposals must demonstrate a major effort to communicate beyond academic settings and/or reach an audience not primarily made up of academics.

The scheme is overseen by the Society’s Conference Committee, which prioritises creativity and favours relatively advanced event plans. Preference may be given to institutions otherwise under-represented in the Society’s conference grant funding. Activities directly forming part of other festivals or organisations are generally not supported.
