Description
The Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office (NDOT-HSO) offers Public Information and Education mini-grant contracts for specific purchases or public education activities lasting no longer than 30 days. The program supports agencies in priority counties that want to educate the public about traffic safety. Activities should focus on alcohol, speed, youth or occupant protection; NDOT-HSO may consider other traffic-safety topics when crash data supports them.
Proposed activities must go beyond the applicant’s current level of activity. Each project must identify a traffic-injury problem, set a measurable objective for reducing fatal and serious injury crashes, describe activities that respond to that problem, and explain how its impact will be evaluated.
