Description
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) offers a nine-month paid Public Policy Fellowship in Washington, D.C., for recent college graduates. It welcomes talented young Latinos and individuals deeply committed to advancing the Latino community. Fellows gain legislative and policy experience through placements aligned with their academic backgrounds, professional experience, and policy interests. At least half of the fellowship takes place on Capitol Hill, with opportunities for other placements in federal agencies, think tanks, nonprofits, or corporate offices.
Fellows spend four days each week in policy work and one day in cohort leadership development. CHCI’s four Pillars of Leadership guide culturally relevant programming that strengthens leadership abilities, clarifies career goals, and examines national policy issues affecting the Latino community. Community service, networking, and research culminating in a published issue brief complement the placement experience.
