The Publication Assistance Program (PAP) – transfer of rights, administered by the Institut français, provides financial support to foreign publishing houses for the acquisition of rights and translation of French works. The program aims to broaden the international reach of contemporary French literature and thought by enabling non-French-speaking audiences to access these works in translation. Since 1990, PAP has supported the publication of over 26,000 French titles in 80 countries, fostering literary exchange and promoting French authors worldwide. The program also complements local initiatives managed by French cultural institutes and Book Offices.
