Description
The Gerda Henkel Foundation’s publishing aid supports the dissemination of humanities research through academic monographs and edited volumes resulting from research it has funded. It is reserved for especially successful Foundation-supported projects, helping their findings reach the academic community and the public and contribute to scholarly dialogue.
Applicants may seek a subsidy for printing a book or, alternatively, support for Open Access publication costs. The focus is on book-length research outputs rather than individual articles: the Foundation does not cover Open Access fees for individual articles. Applications include a summary explaining the work’s academic merit and innovativeness, together with the manuscript and the publisher’s cost calculation.
