Description
This opportunity, offered by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) under UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), supports adventurous and high-impact research in environmental science. The scheme encourages bold, curiosity-driven projects that may be pure, applied, technology-led (including AI, engineering biology, quantum), or policy-driven, as long as they address significant environmental science questions. Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research is welcomed, as are collaborations with other research funders and users. Proposals should demonstrate excellence, importance, and the potential for advancing knowledge and delivering societal, economic, or environmental benefits. The research must predominantly fall within NERC’s remit.
