Description
This opportunity from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) via the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) funds adventurous, curiosity-driven projects that push the boundaries of environmental science. The scheme is designed to support ambitious, innovative, and multidisciplinary research, including high-risk/high-reward studies, that can generate new knowledge or address significant environmental challenges. Projects may be pure, applied, technology-led, or policy-driven, but must focus on clearly defined environmental science questions and primarily fall within NERC’s remit. Collaborations across disciplines and with other funders or research users are strongly encouraged. The program also promotes the development and application of novel technologies, including artificial intelligence and engineering biology.
