Description
The QJMAM Fund for Applied Mathematics supports UK research in the broad areas of applied mathematics and theoretical mechanics. It is administered by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA), with award decisions made by a panel appointed by the Trustees and chaired by Professor Andrew Norris. Priority goes to activities that clearly enhance these fields in the UK.
The fund provides partial support for UK conferences and workshops, conference travel for UK-based participants, short collaborative research visits, and new academic-industrial interactions. Support for early career researchers and PhD students attending conferences receives high priority. The Trustees also seek to increase the number and visibility of active UK participants at major relevant conferences, including ICTAM, ICIAM and EUROMECH.
