The Oncology Nursing Foundation’s Quality of Life Lectureship supports an annual distinguished lecture at ONS Congress, presented by a leading expert who is an inspiration in the field. Led by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, the program explores quality of life and the psychosocial aspects of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care. The lecture and award are presented in person each year to an audience of more than a thousand attendees. Memorial Sloan Kettering sponsors the 2026 lectureship.

The program provides a platform for perspectives on the emotional and personal dimensions of cancer and the experiences of oncology nurses. Past lectures have addressed survivorship, loss and grief, patient and family caregiver support, older adult cancer care, and psychosocial adjustment. Other presentations have explored nursing sustainability, compassionate care, resilience, and self-care through creative expression.
