Description
Mayo Clinic’s four-year Radiation Oncology Residency in Jacksonville, Florida, prepares physicians for private practice, academic practice, or further fellowship training. The program combines a customizable curriculum, comprehensive didactic instruction, hands-on clinical experience, and one-on-one, site-specific rotations. Its goal is to develop skilled radiation oncologists who provide caring, compassionate treatment, with an emphasis on oncologic care, practice-changing research, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Residents receive dedicated research time, research staff support, funding, and opportunities to present at national and international meetings. Research can span biological laboratory studies, clinical research, and medical physics, with opportunities in clinical trial design, protocol development, and quality improvement. Faculty mentorship is available within radiation oncology and across Mayo Clinic.
