Summary: Supports doctoral networks developing innovative AI systems, tools and methods that enable advances in scientific disciplines.
Key Information: Apply through MSCA Doctoral Networks 2026 and opt into RAISE in Part B2, section 11.
The RAISE pilot is a European Commission Horizon Europe initiative building on MSCA Doctoral Networks 2026. It supports doctoral research in which developing innovative AI systems, models, tools or methodologies is indispensable to advancing a scientific discipline. Scientific results must depend directly on those AI capabilities, rather than solely advancing computer-scientific AI or routinely applying existing computational tools.
The programme combines dedicated doctoral-level training in AI in science with research and transferable skills, networking, communication and career development within and beyond academia. It also seeks to improve doctoral training and supervision, strengthen cooperation across sectors and disciplines, and increase participating organisations’ research capacity and uptake of AI in science. Supported networks and doctoral candidates become part of the Resource for AI Science in Europe research community and interact with its members.
