Description
The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation Arts & Culture Initiative supports arts and culture in the eight counties of Western New York plus Monroe County. Established through endowment funds in 2021, it recognizes the sector’s contribution to a thriving economy. The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo administers the initiative, with Rochester Area Community Foundation overseeing the Monroe County process. Community feedback shapes this annual funding opportunity.
General Operating Micro Grants support immediate programming by small, volunteer-led or part-time-staffed arts and culture organizations. Funds may cover project or general operating expenses. Peer artists, arts practitioners, and arts administrators participate in review across the nine counties. The broader initiative also includes Capacity-Building & General Operating grants for organizations investing in their continued ability to achieve their missions.
