The Robert Wrigley Pain Research Scholarship supports work aimed at improving the care of patients with pelvic pain. Run by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), it was established in 2012 through a donation from the late Robert Wrigley to promote research in gynaecologic surgery or surgical teaching.
The scholarship is directed towards early-career Fellows, members seeking Fellowship, and advanced FRANZCOG trainees. Funded activity must reasonably be expected to contribute to improved pelvic pain treatment. The conditions allow flexible uses, including seed funding for a research project or support towards an extended stay at an overseas pain treatment centre. The RANZCOG Women’s Health Foundation administers the scholarship, with applications assessed by the Research Grants Committee.
