Description
Alaska Conservation Foundation’s Bart Koehler Rapid Response program supports direct conservation advocacy when urgent or unforeseen opportunities or threats call for timely action. The current guidelines cover issues of statewide or national significance and seek stronger environmental policy and enduring conservation impact in Alaska. Preference goes to projects with an expected decision point.
Supported activities can include legal, scientific or technical support; grassroots advocacy; communications and outreach; meetings with decision makers; travel; and contract services. The program aims to reduce destructive environmental activities, strengthen environmental laws and protections, improve regulation and enforcement, and advance more sustainable economic development or activities.
