Description
The RARE Grant Program (Research Accelerating RUNX1 Exploration) is a two-year research award from Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. It is designed to support projects that develop therapies for patients with RUNX1-FPD (familial platelet disorder with associated myeloid malignancy). The program prioritizes research that intercepts the transition from a precancer state (clonal hematopoiesis) to myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) or acute myeloid leukemia (AML), or that prevents cancer entirely before clonal hematopoiesis develops. Projects must have a clear focus on clinically meaningful outcomes for patients, such as the prevention of MDS/AML, and should deepen understanding of the early stages and progression of RUNX1-FPD.
