Description
Reaching Communities England is run by the National Lottery Community Fund to strengthen communities and improve lives. It funds existing work and new projects, prioritising places, people and communities experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination. Communities may share a location, interests or life experiences, even when their members live in different places.
Projects must contribute to at least one of four missions: bringing people together, helping children and young people thrive, tackling health inequalities, or supporting environmental sustainability. The programme emphasises meaningful community involvement in designing, delivering and managing work, and giving people power over decisions affecting their lives. Organisations led by people with lived experience of the issues they address are more likely to receive funding. Addressing multiple missions does not improve an application’s chances.
