Description
Real Jobs RI is a demand-driven workforce development initiative run by the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training through the Governor’s Workforce Board. Its sector partnerships bring employers, training providers, and community organizations together to address workforce challenges identified by industries. Rather than using one training model across fields, partnerships develop solutions suited to their sectors.
Program activities include training and placement assistance for jobseekers, skills training for incumbent workers, and training and mentorship for business owners and entrepreneurs. Published examples span healthcare, construction, manufacturing, education, hospitality, and the blue and green economy. Employers seeking help with workforce needs can ask to be connected with a sector partnership.
