Description
East Bay Community Action Program leads this Real Skills for Youth opportunity, supported by Rhode Island’s Governor’s Workforce Board through the Department of Labor and Training. Participants gain paid experience in workplaces connected to their interests, with support from mentors, employers, and program staff. The program aims to build communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while helping young people explore college and career paths.
Pathways include sports management, child enrichment, culinary arts and hospitality, library technology services, green industries and urban forestry, healthcare, and the blue economy. Real Skills for Youth is part of PrepareRI, an initiative focused on career exposure, skill-building, and work-based learning for Rhode Island youth.
