Description
Tri-County Community Action Agency offers a Real Skills for Youth program supported by Rhode Island’s Governor’s Workforce Board through the Department of Labor and Training. Part of the PrepareRI initiative, it helps young people prepare for college and careers through career exposure, skill-building, mentorship, and paid work-based learning.
Tri-County staff help participants explore their interests and find employer-based placements that fit their goals. Participants practice résumé writing, interviewing, money management, and workplace skills while gaining experience alongside mentors. Career pathways include healthcare, business and finance, computer science, sustainable energy, education, and hospitality.
