Description
The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) administers these state-funded planning grants to help develop projects for Reclamation and Development Grants Program (RDGP) Project Grants. The program supports work that repairs, reclaims, or mitigates environmental damage to public resources from non-renewable resource extraction, including mining, oil and gas, and hazardous waste sites.
The program also supports crucial state needs that prevent severe natural resource damage or capture extraordinary public benefits that would otherwise be lost. Planning can address watershed or regional drought management, specific drought mitigation projects, high hazard dams, and channel migration zones. Supported activities include site assessment, sampling, groundwater investigation, feasibility studies, project design, research, and technology demonstration.
