Description
FloridaCommerce administers the Recovery Housing Program (RHP) using allocations from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Authorized by the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act of 2018, RHP operates within the Community Development Block Grant framework under modified rules. It helps existing nonprofit organizations and local governments provide stable, transitional housing so individuals recovering from substance use disorders can pursue self-sufficiency and individual recovery goals.
The program supports housing acquisition, construction, rehabilitation, rental assistance, and relocation rather than recovery-service delivery or operating expenses. FloridaCommerce has identified a particular need for additional recovery housing for veterans and gives funding preference to proposals prioritizing them. Applicants must demonstrate housing demand, operational readiness, and measurable benefits for the people served.
