Description
Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) offers these grants through its Community Conservation Partnerships Program. They fund plans and studies that lay the groundwork for local recreation and conservation improvements, including park and open-space plans, greenway plans, master site development plans, and land conservation and stewardship plans.
Supported studies also include feasibility assessments for swimming pool complexes and indoor recreation facilities, and river or watershed conservation plans. Planning projects examine needs, conditions, and future actions; DCNR’s guidance calls for substantial public participation. Facilities and sites planned with grant funding must serve a public purpose and be open for public use.
