Description
The Recreation Trails Program (RTP) is a federal recreation grant administered by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. It supports trail maintenance and development to improve public outdoor recreation opportunities. Funded land acquisition and development projects must provide public access for outdoor recreation.
DNR’s recreation grant examples include acquiring land for parks and trails and constructing hiking trails, bike paths, canoe and kayak launches, and related facilities. Applicants with other project ideas are encouraged to discuss them with a DNR Regional Project Manager.
