Recreational Boating Facilities Grants support Wisconsin public boating projects, funding facilities, dredging, navigation aids and equipment to improve access and safety for the general boating public.

Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources administers this cost-sharing program under the supervision of the Wisconsin Waterways Commission. It supports development and renovation of public recreational boating facilities, including ramps, docks, harbors of refuge, parking and other support facilities. Funding also covers eligible channel and project-related dredging, lock improvements, navigational aids, and equipment to harvest aquatic plants or remove floating trash.
The commission reviews projects for feasibility and priority. Its considerations include demand for safe boating facilities, distance from and condition of existing facilities, projects underway, committed funds and regional location. It also favors basic facilities where safe access is scarce and activities serving the general boating public.
