The Recreational Trails Program (RTP), administered by the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation and funded by the Federal Highway Administration, provides grants to support the development, maintenance, and restoration of recreational trails and trailside facilities for both motorized and non-motorized uses. The program also funds educational initiatives that promote responsible trail use and stewardship. Eligible projects include trail construction, trailhead facilities, equipment purchase, land acquisition, and trail-related education and safety programs. Funding is intended to enhance outdoor recreation opportunities and improve Utah’s trail infrastructure for the benefit of the public.
