Description
The Recreational Trails Program (RTP), administered by the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department, provides federal funding to support both motorized and non-motorized recreational trail projects throughout North Dakota. The program is designed to enhance outdoor recreation, community connectivity, and access to natural landscapes by funding the construction of new trails, restoration of existing trails, development of trailhead facilities, purchase and lease of trail construction and maintenance equipment, land acquisition, and trail accessibility assessments. The RTP is a competitive, merit-based grant program that requires applicants to demonstrate alignment with state recreation priorities and the NDPRD mission.
