Description
The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) offers this grant through its Office of Solid Waste Reduction and Recycling. It supports K–12 schools in raising awareness of the waste they generate, why reducing it matters, and the importance of recycling. Schools can use the grant to launch or expand efforts that connect these topics to students’ everyday decisions.
The program offers two awards: Take Action SC supports projects such as starting recycling and composting programs, while Don’t Waste Food supports food waste reduction initiatives. Schools may seek either or both awards through one application.
