Description
Reduce Emissions from Diesels (Go RED!) is a competitive funding assistance program administered by the Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Office of Air Quality. It uses funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s State Clean Diesel Grant Program under the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act to reduce diesel emissions in Arkansas.
The program supports cleaner heavy-duty highway trucks, buses, marine engines and vessels, locomotives, and nonroad equipment. Eligible approaches include vehicle or engine replacement, certified engine remanufacture, verified exhaust retrofits and idle-reduction technologies, clean alternative fuel conversions, and certain aerodynamic technologies and tires. DEQ aims to reduce pollutants that affect air quality, visibility, and health, particularly for children, older adults, and people with respiratory problems.
