Description
The Reduce, Reuse, Repair Micro-Grant is administered by MassDEP’s Municipal Waste Reduction Branch to advance Massachusetts’ solid waste reduction goals. It supports short-term projects that extend the life of products through donation, sharing, rescue, reuse, and repair—not recycling or composting. The program aims to increase participation in reuse and repair, build sustainable infrastructure, and test or expand innovative approaches.
Eligible work includes collecting and redistributing reusable goods, repairing durable products, expanding food rescue, replacing single-use packaging or food service ware, and supporting deconstruction and building-material reuse. MassDEP seeks recurring, replicable projects that remain sustainable after grant funding, with measurable waste reduction and broad impact. Projects directly benefiting designated Disadvantaged Communities receive priority.
