Description
RISE PA is a $396 million statewide industrial decarbonization program administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), with funding from EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. It targets Pennsylvania’s highest-emitting sector, responsible for just over 30% of statewide greenhouse gas emissions, while seeking to improve air quality, strengthen manufacturing competitiveness, and create good-paying jobs.
The program supports electrification, energy efficiency, industrial process and waste reductions, low-carbon fuel switching, on-site renewable energy, carbon capture, utilization and storage, and fugitive emissions reductions. Penn State’s Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP) administers the Small-scale Award Track (SAT), exclusively for small and mid-sized manufacturers. DEP administers the Medium- and Large-scale Award Tracks (MAT/LAT).
