Region 2 Arts Council administers this fellowship with support from the McKnight Foundation. It recognizes dedicated, experienced artists, culture bearers, writers, creators, and performers working in any discipline across Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, and Mahnomen counties in Minnesota. The program accepts both self-nominations and nominations from others.
The fellowship provides unfettered funding to fuel recipients’ creative work rather than focusing on a prescribed project. Its central purpose is to fund creative time, support depth and advancement within a creative discipline, and help recipients further and innovate their practice. Through this investment, R2Arts seeks to celebrate creative achievement, honor artistic excellence, and elevate the quality of artistic work throughout the region.
