The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) funds the establishment, operation, and administration of the Region 4 Small Business Transportation Technical Assistance Center (SBTTAC). Formerly known as the Small Business Transportation Resource Center program, SBTTAC strengthens small businesses’ capacity, competitiveness, and readiness to compete for and perform Federal, state, local, and private transportation contracts.
The center serves Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, and Tennessee. Its services include individualized counseling, transportation-focused training, loan and bonding support, outreach, and referrals to USDOT’s National Bonding Education Program. The recipient connects businesses with transportation agencies, financial institutions, prime contractors, and other resources, while documenting measurable outcomes and reporting required performance indicators to OSDBU.
